Antelope Canyon is about 15 minutes away from Page AZ on the Navajo Nation reservation. We hopped into a 4×4 Navajo Tours pickup and were whisked off to the entrance to upper Antelope Canyon.
The blue light beams are etherial and only visible Spring and Summer around high noon. Thin shafts of light briefly penetrate the narrow openings of the canyon, sending piercing beams through the sandstone maze to the sand floor below.
The rocks cut by wind and water over time, create seemingly recognizable shapes. The rays of sunlight that enter through the slots of the canyon make the walls glow in shades of red, orange, blue and purple.
