Although it is not the most direct route, the drive though the PA NY wine country on the shore of Lake Erie and the Niagra Peninsula is spectacular. After a brief pit stop in downtown Toronto and CN Tower, I arrived in Montreal late afternoon and found great urban camping spot in a lot next to Chinatown.
Old Montreal with its rich history offers much to see and explore highlighted by the Cathedral Notre Dame de Montreal which is amazing by night and by day.
On this late summer day there was so much to see, from Place d’Armes Square to Fort de la Montagne. History and architecture make Old Montreal truly special, and everything is in easy walking distance.
St. Paul Street always has a lot happening. And you can’t go to Old Montreal without tasting poutine. The nightlife makes Montreal stand out among North American cities.
